SPECIALIST SKILLS REPRESENT A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE TO THE SECONDARY SKILL SYSTEM AND ALSO REMOVE THE FAITH AND STEALTH SPECIALIZATIONS AS THEY WERE ONCE IMPLEMENTED, AS SUCH ANY EXISTING PLAYERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO RESET ALL SECONDARY SKILL POINTS AND REALLOCATE THEM FROM SCRATCH, FREE OF ANY TRAINING COSTS.

A character can only take a maximum of two specialist skills across all types (global maximum), and are also subject to maximums under each specialist sub-type

Examples:
  • A Mage could potentially take 1 Weapon Specialization and 2 Spirit Specializations; however due to global maximum for all Specialist Skills, would only be able to take 2 out of 3 of these.
  • A Warrior could potentially take 1 Weapon Specializations and 1 Combat Specializations; in this case the global maximum for all Specialist Skills does not interfere
  • A Soldier could potentially take 2 Weapon Specializations and 1 Combat Specializations; however due to global maximum for all Specialist Skills, would only be able to take 2 out of 3 of these.
  • An Assassin could potentially take 1 Weapon Specialization, 1 Combat Specialization, 1 Stealth Specialization , and 1 Spirit Specialization; however the global maximum for all Specialist Skills applies and therefore he/she could only take 2 out of 4 of these

Weapon Specialist


This skill allows the user to master the art of fighting with a particular type of weapon. However such is the dedication required to specialize in a particular weapon type, most classes may only ever specialize in one type, so choose wisely.

Soldiers and Barbarians are an exception to this rule and may Specialize in up to two different types of weapons if spending the appropriate amount of Secondary Skill Points.

Players must select one weapon type to specialize in and any effects listed apply only to attacks made with that weapon type. See the separate Weapon Specialist page for details on each type. Unarmed attacks can not benefit from Weapon Specialist.

Combat Specialist


Combat specializations are unique fighting styles for player characters. Combat Specialists spend long hours at practice to master a particular fighting style, and as such most classes can only learn a single type of Combat Specialization.

Knights and Martial Artists are an exception to this rule and may specialize in up to two different fighting styles, though some restrictions apply. See the Combat Specialist page for details.

Stealth Specialist


Stealth specialists focus their training into a specific Stealth discipline. Most classes can only have one Stealth Specialization.

Thieves are an exception to this rule and may specialize in up to two different Stealth Disciplines.

Spirit specialists focus their training and study into a specific Spirit discipline. Most classes can only have one Spirit Specialization.

Mages are an exception to this rule and may specialize in up to two different Spirit Disciplines.

Faith specialists focus their training and study into a specific Faith discipline. Most classes can only have one Faith Specialization.
